PEOPLE
Madre Museum, Naples (June, 29 – August 28, 2006)

People includes art by well-known contemporary names such as Jason Brooks, Piero Golia, Peter Coffin, Phi Collins, Jeremy Deller, Nan Goldin, Yoshimoto Nara, Ugo Rondinone, Jonathan Monk.
The exhibition focuses on a body of works from Ernesto Esposito’s collection which visually reconstruct the space in a contemporary key. More than 50 works, including paintings and photographs by different generations of artist from the entire world with multiple social and cultural backgrounds tell the story of everyday life and its parody, eroticism, sex, the horrors of war, social contrasts, political opposition, the myth of the artist and the personality cult or death. The picture gallery is framed against the backdrop of an extraordinary installation by Assumes Vivid Astro Focus, pseudonym of a Brazilian artist residing in New York, who, maintaining anonymity, elaborates artistic projects and environments that through the use of wallpapers, decals, sculptures protruding from the walls, stickers, t- shirts and music videos assimilate and re-elaborate aesthetic contaminations from the most disparate origins.
