About
In 2021, the Esposito family founded noh-art. After decades of collecting contemporary art, Ernesto Esposito decided to preserve and pass on his legacy by launching this platform with his nieces Carolina and Elisabetta offering a sense of the kaleidoscopic vitality of his collection, in which masters of contemporary art maintain a dialogue with emerging artists in surprising continuity. Noh-art is the destination of a journey that combines two voices of a generation adapting our family’s art inheritance and Ernesto’s deep knowledge with a new perspective to the art world. Our community can experience and understand the value of contemporary art through an experienced, sophisticated, but younger approach. Ernesto’s collection now house over 1200 works since 1970 to the present days which includes paintings, photographs, videos, sculptures, and installations produced by International artists of various generation from different cultural and geographical areas. Recently, we have became quite committed to commissioning new works by young international artists and also our love for travelling have enabled us to build up genuine and honest friendships with artists and dealers worldwide.
Ernesto Esposito is one of the most influential Italian men in the contemporary art scene, as well as a celebrated designer of haute couture footwear. Ernesto discovered art almost by chance in 1970, while visiting an Andy Warhol exhibition at the Musée d’Arte Moderne de la Ville in Paris. Following this stunning show, he decided to purchase his first piece of art: Andy Warhol’s “Electric Chair, 1964,” thanks to the advice of Neapolitan gallerist-dealer Lucio Amelio. Indeed, he had the opportunity to meet renowned artists such as Cy Twombly, Robert Rauschenberg, Gerard Richter, Jannis Kounellis, and Gilbert and George when he was only twenty years old. Ernesto does not follow a specific criteria or art movement: “When I buy art, I feel free and I do not have any restriction. Aesthetic, beauty and proportion are the three elements that combined with my instinct, have always helped me to select the works that best suit in my collection”. Ernesto Esposito
What they say about Ernesto
If Art were a woman Ernesto would be the husband, the mistress, the psychologist and obviously her fashion designer. Ernesto is the symbol of a multiple monogamy driven by the continuous discovery of this woman’s personality and toward the scanning of her body.

Ernesto sees contemporary art with the eyes and head of an artist. Sometimes he really scared me because of his ability to predict the new trend. I am obsessed with his shoes!

Ernesto has been the first person supporting emerging artists such as Claire Fontaine, Dan Rees, Helen Martin, Tris-Vonna-Michells in not suspicious time. We consider him our artistic prophet full of energies, ideas and motivation.
