Romina Bassu
(Italy, 1980)
Romina Bassu was born in Rome in 1982, where she currently lives and works. Her work is a stereotypical representation of women modeled on the needs of masculine culture and consumer society depicted in the “altered” version. Through the eyes of a woman, Romina has collected photographs, movie posters, old magazines, etc., and she borrowed these atmospheres as a motif for her acrylics and watercolors. Her reflection on memory aims to create a continuum between universal history and individual one.
