Alexandre Maxwell
(Rio De Janeiro, 1990)
“I’ve started to paint with materials that were at hand, they are more rudimentary materials, that were or still are part of my daily life.”
Alexandre Maxwell’s works are usually large in dimensions and rich in details – using from brick, latex, wax to acrylic, pastel or oil painting. In the artworks there is an evident reference to well-known black artists and the motifs are mostly related to the quotidian life of Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro.
